Directors

Andy Sparrow, Managing Director

Andy is a Commercial Insurance specialist and has over 30 years’ experience in the Lloyd’s and London Insurance Market. Career highlights for him include heading up of the Commercial Division and progressing to the main board of the Lloyds Broker he worked for previously before founding Fidentia Insurance in August 2013. Andy leads the Fidentia management team and is instrumental in creating a company culture of professionalism, teamwork and exemplary client focus. He gives Fidentia’s clients expert guidance on risks and insurance programmes for large or complex corporate risks. Andy finds understanding, and then solving, their problems to be the most satisfying part of his job. In his spare time, he enjoys current affairs and most sports. We are also very proud of his support of numerous charitable causes through the marathons and other fund raising activities.

Sandra Coleman, Director

Sandra is also a Commercial Insurance specialist. In her role as Board Director at Fidentia she also leads our Claims Division. With over 28 years’ experience in the industry, her career highlights include managing the Claims Division at a previous Lloyds broker, where she progressed to the company’s Main Board of Directors, before setting up Fidentia with Andy Sparrow. As one of Fidentia’s senior management team, Sandra focuses on ensuring the company handles claims to a high standard – particularly the more complex or unusual claims. She has extensive experience of assessing how best policy wordings can work to the advantage of an insured in order to achieve for our client’s best results. This requires not only experience, but also a good understanding of policy wordings. Her ingenuity in the claims arena also provides Sandra with an ability to foresee potential exposures for clients and then tailor a client’s policy to help meet those exposures. In her spare time, Sandra enjoys reading, learning golf, nature walks and wildlife.

Joe Knoblauch, Finance Director

Joe is a chartered accountant with over 25 years’ experience in the Lloyd’s and London Insurance Market, having initially qualified with E&Y. He was one of the founding Directors of Oxygen Holdings PLC in 2004, a company that established both a broking and an MGA brand, with the MGA being sold to AJ Gallagher and the broker being sold off by 2012. Joe has had hands-on experience of business start-up and growth, capital-raising, team-evaluation, company acquisitions/disposals, business defence and FSA/FCA regulation, with roles including CFO, Corporate Finance Director, Company Secretarial and Business Development, both domestically and overseas. He has also had significant involvement in both the running (as CFO) and the sale of a large back-office business. He has recently been involved in a couple of property developments, a new interest for him. Joe enjoys getting involved in the financial aspects of the business as well as looking at ways to enhance our offering to clients. Joe plays golf and enjoys the Wilds of his native Kerry, with his family, in his time off.

Commercial Division

Tom Harvey, Commercial Manager

Tom has a key interest in the Insurance market as his Grandfather Terry Harvey has been a major influence, having over 50 years of experience in the industry. Tom began his insurance career in the Commercial Division of Carroll Harvey Insurance in June 2012. He remains with the team and continues to work in the Commercial Division, not only looking after commercial clientele’s requirements, but also heading up the Clubs Division. He enjoys the interaction with the clientele, having a good understanding of their requirements. His ability to communicate and form good working relations, has naturally led him into the world of broking risks, in Lloyd’s of London.

Paul Churcher, Commercial Account Handler

Paul joined the Fidentia team as a Commercial Account Handler. Paul has over 30 years’ experience in the Insurance industry, from Broking to Commercial Underwriting. Paul enjoys developing customer relations and puts professionalism, skill and market knowledge at the heart of everything he does. During his spare time, Paul enjoys motorcycle riding, films, and cooking.

Daniel Higgs, Commercial Account Handler

Meet Dan, an experienced insurance broker with over 6 years of industry knowledge. Since joining Fidentia Insurance Brokers in Spring 2023, Dan has proven to be a valuable team member, providing clients with a thorough and personalised service. He is committed to ensuring that his clients receive optimal coverage that is tailored to their unique needs.
Beyond the office, Dan enjoys an active lifestyle, with mountain hiking and sports topping his list of favourite activities. He also cherishes quality time with his family and friends. Dan’s passion for the outdoors and his dedication to his work reflect his hardworking nature and commitment to providing a quality service for his clients.

Layla Kerridge, Office Junior

Layla joined the Fidentia team in autumn 8th September 2022, supporting the Commercial and Private client departments. Layla is committed to ensuring that both departments and clients receive assistance to the highest of standards and have a good understanding of their requirements. She always has an interest to learn and enjoys getting involved in all aspects of the business and hopes to prosper within both Commercial and Personal Lines sectors.
In her spare time, Layla enjoys going to the gym, going on walks and appreciates spending time with her friends.

Private Clients Division

Matthew Terrett, Personal Lines Manager

Matt joined the team here at Fidentia in 2022 and is a Private Client & Personal Lines specialist with over 20 years of experience behind him. Previously holding positions with: Savills Private Finance; Willis Towers Watson; Aon; & Aston Lark just to name a few, he has acquired extensive knowledge in his field which is reflected in the relationships he has built over the years with: clients; underwriters in the London/UK markets; introducer partners across various business sectors; and service providers widely used throughout the insurance marketplace. Matt is an avid follower of football (West Ham United) & Rugby Union (Saracens). And in his spare time enjoys spending time with his wife and their two sons.

Daniel Cox, Senior Account Executive

Dan began his insurance career in the Collectibles Division as Junior Account Handler at HW Wood Ltd in 2007. Leaving in 2009, Dan stepped into the Private Client Home Sector where he gained extensive knowledge in this particular field, working at Savills Insurance Services (SPF) and Gauntlet. In May 2018, Dan joined the team working in the Private Client Division. Dan is a keen footballer and an avid gym goer. In his spare time enjoys spending time with his wife and their two dogs.

Jodie Behan, Account Handler

Jodie joined the Fidentia team in the autumn of 2018 supporting the Claims and Private client departments and enjoyed all aspects of this role, acquiring valuable skills and experience. In 2021, Jodie moved to the Private Client team full time and is now working as an Account handler, providing an exciting new challenge for her. She is a highly motivated, professional individual with clear aspirations to deliver a first class service to clients and flourish within the Private Clients sector.

In her free time Jodie enjoys family time walking her dog, as well as going out and being social with friends and family.

Claims Division

Scott Archer, Claims Manager

Scott is a senior member of Fidentia Insurance’s in-house Claims Division. He has over 30 years’ insurance broking experience including 25 years specialising in effective claims resolution. Scott provides advice, guidance and support to clients throughout the whole claim’s process. He greatly enjoys being part of Fidentia, whose friendly team work closely together to deliver a highly professional service and effective solutions to clients. In his spare time, Scott enjoys keeping fit.

Connor Outten, Claims Technician

Connor joined Fidentia’s in-house Claims Division in Autumn of 2021. He started his career in insurance at Crawford & Co before joining Lucas Claims Solutions as a Senior Claims Handler where he handled a wide variety portfolio of claim products, providing support and guidance to clients, ensuring a smooth and efficient claim cycle with the best possible outcome for the client. Connor enjoys being outdoors hiking and plays football in his spare time.

David Murphy, Claims Technician

David joined Fidentia’s in-house Claims Division in 2017. He has over 35 years’ insurance experience, specialising in the servicing of all types of claims. He ensures our clients are efficiently guided through the claim process, and always works hard to achieve good outcomes for the client. In his spare time, David enjoys a wide variety of sports.

Wholesale Binding Authorities

Malcolm Ford, Divisional Director

Malcolm has over 50 years’ broking experience in the Lloyd’s and London Insurance market. He specialises in arranging binding authority contracts for brokers and greatly enjoys ensuring the process runs smoothly for all concerned. Malcolm likes being part of the Fidentia team, as everyone is respected and helpful. Outside of work he enjoys spending time with the family and watching most sports.

North American Division

Andy Allen, Departmental Head – North America Division

Andy has over 40 years’ experience in the Insurance Industry and heads-up our North American Department (Allen & Pemble). The team places business emanating from all over the USA and specialises in Binding Authorities for Property and Truck Physical Damage. They also have extensive expertise in mobile home and low value dwelling home insurance. In his work, Andy greatly enjoys the close contact with clients to identify their needs, and then find solutions. He also values being part of the Fidentia team who he finds to be a happy firm with bags of professionalism and a strong ethos of putting clients first.

Neil Pemble, Account Executive – North America Division

Neil has over 28 years’ experience in the Lloyd’s Market and works in our North American Department (Allen & Pemble). He has a particular interest in Aviation Reinsurance and specialises in Non-Marine Binding Authorities covering placement, premium and claim settlements. Neil greatly values being part of the Fidentia team, and finds the firm to be a well-run Lloyd’s Broking House. In his spare time he enjoys golf, football and snooker, as well as spending time with his family.

Compliance

Yul Shaw, Compliance Officer

Yul joined Fidentia in 2022 as Group Compliance Officer. He comes with over 18 years regulatory, governance and compliance experience across both the Financial Services and Insurance industry. He began his career in the regulatory field as a Supervisor at the FCA, the UK regulator. After that role, he specialised in helping companies optimise their regulatory systems & controls, regulators relations and policies. Yul enjoys cooking, travelling, gardening.

Operations

Natalie Robinson, Office Manager

Natalie joined the Fidentia team in the autumn of 2022 as Office Manager, Natalie has 7 years’ experience is Office management / Personal Assistant roles within the Insurance industry. She will provide guidance and support within the Teams at Fidentia and control office duties/maintenance/systems, my goal is to be understanding, patient and ready to help new and existing employees with their needs and new ideas to keep the office in running order. Natalie projects very professional attributes such as confidentiality, approachable, motivate staff to perform work efficiently and economically. Natalie enjoys walking, cooking and travel.
